FEATURED BEER OF THE MONTH

AUGUST

Boon Black Label (Geuze)

In 2015 Boon Brewery presented Oude Geuze Boon Black Label fo the first time. The Oude Geuze sutied the consumers’ palate very well and in May 2016 it won the gold medal at th World beer Cup 2016. This Oude Geuze is made from a selection of lambic from oak casks, foeders, with the highest degree of fermentation. This make Oude Geuze Boon Black Label bone-dry whil keeping it full-bodied. As inspiration for the label on the bottle, the 40 yesr old design of the first label of “OUde Geuze Boon’ was used.

Petrus Quad Nitro (Quadruple)

Just released in Winter 2017, Petrus Nitro Quad is a truly unique beer from Brouweril De Brabandere. The base beer is a Quadrupel brewed with 6 different types of malt. Delivered with nitrogen provides a creamy, velvety taste. At 11.5% ABV, stron, but so smooth.

Saint Arnold Elissa Cask (IPA)

A traditional India. Pale Ale, the Elissa IPA is very hoppy with a properly balanced malty body. Elissa has huge hop additions in the kettle that give it a wonderful bitteness andis then dry-hopped in the fermenter to create the pleasant floral, hoppy nose. Our reverse osmosis water makes the bitter very soft with no harsh notes to it. The maltiness dervied from the British Maris Otter malt. Its rich flavor stands up to the hops that would otherwise dominate this bee. The Elissa is an authentic version of an IPA style.

Austin Eastciders Blood Orange (Cider)

Austin Eastciders blended blood oranges from Italy with bitterwseet heirloom apples to create a cider with a zesty twist. With just the right amount of sweet and citrus flavors, their Blood Orange ciders is sure to brighten your day.

SEPTEMBER

Founders Dirty Bastard (Scotch Ale)

So good it’s almost wrong. Dark ruby in color and brewed with seven varieties of imported malts.  Complex in finish, with hints of smoke and pet, paired with a  malty richness and a right hook of hop power to give it the bad attitude that a beer named Dirty Bastard has to live up to. Ain’t for the wee lads.

Sweetwater 420 G13 (IPA)

This aromatic super-hybrid sticky IPA is first and foremost a phenomenally delicious and drinkable beer, with the added bonus of an olfactory experience that mimics that of the legendary G13 cannabis strain.  The IPA base brew has a great body, good head, and nice amount of haze at a pleasurable 6% ABV.  To work with the malt bill, the brewers added some of their dankest hops, Columbus and Simcoe, plus two dry hop additions.  To achieve the aroma, the brewers found the perfect botanically-sourced, strain specific terpense and married them with the propriety natural hemp flavor, both perfectly complementing the hops in the IPA.

Real Ale Lime Gose (Gose)

Gose is a rarely brewed regional specialty beer from Northern Germany.  A slightly sour wheat beer, it’s known for hints of coriander and a unique saltiness that is derived from the local water source.  As a twist on the original, Real Ale added fresh lime juice to their version after fermentation.  The result is a delightfully tart and refreshing beer to help you slug it out with the even hottest of Texas summers.
