🍺🥃 Beer + Whiskey Pairing Spotlight 🥃🍺
We’re bringing a little Bavaria to the bar and pairing it with a bold American classic.
Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier + Redemption Rye Whiskey
Why it works:
The soft, pillowy wheat body and notes of banana and clove from the hefeweizen smooth out the spice-forward kick of the rye. The whiskey’s peppery backbone highlights the beer’s subtle citrus and yeast character, while the beer cools and refreshes your palate between sips. It’s bright, spicy, and incredibly balanced.
Fun Facts:
🍺 @weihenstephan_official Hefe Weissbier comes from the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan, founded in 1040 — widely considered the world’s oldest continuously operating brewery. Almost 1,000 years of brewing tradition in one glass.
🥃 @redemptionwhiskey Rye Whiskey uses a mash bill of 95% rye grain, which is significantly higher than many traditional ryes — that’s what gives it that signature bold spice and dry finish cocktail lovers (and neat sippers) crave.
Pull up a chair, order the duo, and taste how Old World brewing meets American rye rebellion.
Cheers from The Ginger Man 🍻

As Trappist Takeover Week comes to a close, we just want to say thank you.
Thank you for slowing down with us.
For asking questions.
For learning the stories behind the glass.
For appreciating some truly remarkable beers brewed with purpose and centuries of tradition.
A special thank you to Merchant du Vin for partnering with us and helping bring these authentic Trappist selections to our community. We’re grateful for their commitment to preserving and sharing some of the world’s most iconic breweries.
It was a joy to showcase everything from light and rare pours to rich, contemplative sippers... and to celebrate what makes Trappist beer so special.
The good news?
These wonderful beers aren’t disappearing.
We’ll continue carrying these Trappist selections (and more) pending availability, so if you missed something this week, don’t fear. There’s still time to come in, raise a chalice, and enjoy one for yourself.
Because great beer is meant to be shared, savored, and appreciated together.
Until the next toast 🍻

We’re closing Trappist Takeover Week with a legend — Rochefort 10 from Rochefort Abbey.
Often ranked among the greatest beers in the world, Rochefort 10 is the strongest offering from the monks and a masterpiece of depth and complexity.
Flavor Profile:
🍫 Rich dark chocolate
🍷 Deep plum, raisin, and fig
🍬 Toffee and caramelized sugar
🌰 Subtle spice
🔥 Full-bodied, warming finish
ABV: 11.3% — powerful but impossibly smooth.
Fun Fact: Rochefort brews only a few times per year, and production is intentionally limited to maintain quality and support the monastery — not maximize output.
This is a contemplative beer. A slow sipper. A true Trappist icon.
🍺 Limited pours — once it’s gone, it’s gone
🎁 Final sticker giveaway of the week
🙏 Sip intentionally
🍻 Cheers to a week of tradition

Today we feature the only English Trappist beer — Tynt Meadow from Mount St. Bernard Abbey.
Released in 2018, Tynt Meadow made history as the first English Trappist beer and one of the newest members of the Trappist family.
It’s brewed by monks in rural Leicestershire using English-grown ingredients — a beautiful fusion of Belgian tradition and British character.
Flavor Profile:
🍫 Dark chocolate
☕ Light roast & coffee notes
🍇 Dried fruit and fig
🌿 Subtle earthy hop balance
🔥 Warming, smooth finish
ABV: 7.4%
Fun Fact: The name “Tynt Meadow” comes from the land surrounding the abbey and references a medieval name for the area.
This is modern Trappist history in your glass.
🍺 Limited availability
🎁 Stickers up for grabs
🍻 Drink with intention

We’re pouring one of the most influential beers in the world — Westmalle Tripel, again from Westmalle Abbey.
Originally brewed in 1934, Westmalle Tripel is widely considered the very first modern Tripel — the blueprint for the style that breweries everywhere now replicate.
What makes a Tripel?
Stronger, pale in color, highly carbonated, and deceptively drinkable for its strength.
Flavor Profile:
🍯 Honeyed malt sweetness
🍌 Classic Belgian yeast esters (banana, pear)
🌶 Soft spice & clove notes
🌼 Floral hop aroma
✨ Dry, effervescent finish
ABV: 9.5% — bold yet dangerously smooth.
Fun Fact: Despite the name “Tripel,” it doesn’t mean triple the alcohol — it historically referred to a stronger version of the monastery’s standard beer.
This is one of the most important beers in Belgian brewing history.
🍺 Limited pours
🎁 Stickers while they last
🙏 Raise your chalice
