The Ginger Man was founded by Bob Precious after reading J.P. Donleavy’s The Ginger Man, a novel about an American’s bawdy indiscretions while studying at Trinity College in Dublin. Bob, whose life bore some resemblance to the novel’s rapscallion, saw a need for quality draft beer in a pub inspired by those described in the book.
The Ginger Man first took root in Houston in 1985 and soon spread throughout Texas. After Bob and his family relocated to Manhattan, he eventually sold the original Texas locations in 2000. Today, The Ginger Man carries on that tradition in Las Colinas with good beer, good food and Texas hospitality.
